2,000 jobs up for grabs across the GCC are in the construction and civil engineering space

According to *Constructionweekonline news report, close to 2,000 jobs are currently up for grabs across the GCC in the construction and civil engineering space.
This may come as no surprise given the flurry of big ticket announcements across the region in 2018, namely in Saudi Arabia, where the ambitious Vision 2030 economic agenda has spawned planned giga-projects, such as the $500bn (SAR1.9tn) Neom, the sprawling Qiddiya entertainment city, and the Red Sea project.
All of Saudi Arabia's developments target local, regional, and international tourists as the kingdom looks to position itself as a tourist and cultural destination, bringing with it huge opportunities for the region’s builders.
The new year also brings a new budget for Dubai. HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, approved the 2019 budget with planned expenditure worth $15.5bn (AED56.8bn) earlier this month.
Infrastructure projects account for $2.5bn (AED9.2bn) of the total budget, which is based on population growth figures; a commitment to consistent infrastructure development; the objectives of Dubai Plan 2021; and the benefits of hosting Expo 2020 Dubai.
