Arabtec wins $5.5b contract from Aabar

Arabtec is understood to have secured a Dhs.20 billion ($5.5 billion) contract from Abu Dhabi state fund Aabar to build as many as 37 major buildings across the United Arab Emirates as reported by Gulf News. The contract is one of the largest construction deals awarded to any contractor in the country. Aabar plans to build 12 mixed-use towers and 14 residential towers in Abu Dhabi, in addition to six furnished hotel apartment buildings and four hotels in Dubai. All the projects are expected to be completed before 2020 Dubai World Expo.

Arabtec has in the recent past bagged a series of high profile contracts in Abu Dhabi, including Abu Dhabi airport terminal and the Louvre museum.
