Barwa wins US$ 24.14 mn contract for construction of Phase 2 of Dara Residential project

Barwa Real Estate Group said it has signed a QR88 million (US$ 24.14 million) contract with Erga Qatar Architectural and Engineering Consultants to develop the second phase of its Dara residential project, which is coming up on a 147,000 square meters area in Fox Hills, Qatar.
The mammoth project will boast of several key facilities including hotels, restaurants, commercial units, green spaces, swimming pools besides elabortate car parks and sports facilities, said a statement from the Qatari firm.
The Dara project work will be implemented in nine phases over the next three years starting from September this year, it stated.
Once completed, it will offer more than 2,000 residential apartments and serviced apartments, of different sizes, said Ahmad Abdulla Al Abdulla, the acting group CEO of Barwa Real Estate, after signing the deal with Elie Chebly, the chief international projects officer and partner architect at Erga Qatar.
As per the agreement, Erga Qatar will conduct the design and supervision works of the second phase of Dara project. The design phase and the supervision phase will go in parallel.
The design phase will be implemented over two years, while the supervision and implementation will be done over three years, stated Al Abdulla.According to him, Dara will be a distinctive residential destination offering a unique atmosphere of luxury to its tenants and visitors.
Barwa, he stated, was keen to develop distinctive projects in Qatar which are benchmarked against international standards of real estate projects. "Visitors to Dara will enjoy an array of entertainment amenities and luxurious services," he added.
