British firm wins project management contract for Doha Oasis mixed used development project

UK-based consultancy Faithful+Gould has been awarded a contract to provide project management services to a new 460,000 square meters Doha Oasis mixed-use development in Qatar for Halul Real Estate Investment Company.
Under the deal, Faithful+Gould will provide services to the four main components of the project and develop a detailed project delivery plan to identify and address all associated risks, it said in a statement.
The project includes a high end residential building, comprising of 14 nine-storey buildings which feature penthouses and 245 apartments. The mixed-use podium will comprise of housing, retail and one of the largest indoor amusement theme parks, including a food court, cinemas and cafes, according to news reports in Arabian Business.
The theme park will occupy the central area of the podium and will accommodate 26 or more different rides and attractions. The final component of the project is a seven-star hotel, which will have 28 floors, six restaurants, a gym, indoor pool and business centre.
Charles Kadri, project director said: "This project demonstrates the continuing development of Qatar's property market, which is geared towards delivering the National 2030 Vision. We're really proud to be part of it, with the aim of ensuring the project is delivered within stringent time, cost and quality objectives."
Faithful+Gould, a subsidiary of the Atkins group, has had a permanent presence in Doha since 2008, now with 150 staff in region. It has worked on a number of high-profile projects, which most recently include Doha Festival City; Shaza Kempinski hotel in Doha; and the Lusail Light Rail Transit (LRT) system.
