Dubai Vertical City

In 2030, an innovative floating development named ‘Vertical City’ is set to be launched. The concept of this zero-energy building was initially introduced by the Italian architecture firm Luca Curci Architects at the Knowledge Summit in Dubai back in 2019. The ambitious project aims to create self-sustainable towers that will float on water, accommodating around 25,000 individuals and relying on renewable resources such as wind turbines and solar panels.

The project will align with the UAE’s sustainability goals and will also feature open spaces to allow natural light and ventilation. In addition, the towers, which have an exterior of photovoltaic glass, will also have underwater floors that will see apartments, duplexes, villas, offices, stores as well as spas, meditation centres, gyms and luxury hotel rooms with marine views. Residents and visitors can access the tower by land, water or air.

Etihad Rail passenger train

The rail, on completion, will be utilised initially to transport heavy goods, before carrying over millions of passengers by 2030. Etihad Rail will travel at speeds of up to 200 km per hour, potentially slashing travel between emirates by half  with stations stretching from Sila near the Saudi border to Fujairah on the East Coast.

The Etihad Rail is set to extend its operations to commuters by 2030.The number of passengers is expected to reach more than 36.5 million annually.

The Loop Dubai

THE LOOP in Dubai, is a 93-kilometer, climate controlled highway aims to connect over 3 million residents using a healthy mode of transport, access to key services and locations by walking and cycling within minutes. The project aims to make cycling and walking the primary mode of transport for daily commutes for over 80% of Dubai Residents by 2040.

Burj Binghatti

The new iconic addition to Dubai’s skyline, Burj Binghatti is set to be the world’s tallest residential building and will have over 100 storeys and will feature 2- and 3-bedroom residences.

The tower’s design allows for spacious living areas and floor-to-ceiling windows that provide stunning views of the surrounding areas. It will include exclusive penthouses, private member’s club, an infinity pool overlooking the Dubai skyline and an in-house concierge service offering private chefs, bodyguards, chauffeurs and chefs.

Louvre Abu Dhabi Residences

Located in Abu Dhabi’s Cultural district, Louvre Abu Dhabi Residences offers studios to three bedroom apartments facing the World famous Louvre art museum. The project is the epitome of luxury featuring an elevated pool and sunset deck, gym and sauna, private cinema, elevated gardens and residence lounge & library.

Dubai Agri Hub

Aligned with Dubai’s vision of transforming its rural and untamed regions into the most captivating and exquisite locations globally, the Agri Hub by URB aims to become a key tourist destination in Dubai’s countryside. Situated amidst the desert, the project will promote a new agritourism experience, whilst offering fun and adventurous services as well as amenities.

Abu Dhabi Midfield Terminal

The new Midfield Terminal will open towards the end of 2023. On completion, the Midfield Terminal building can accommodate up to 45 million passengers annually and up to 11,000 passengers per hour. Once opened, terminals 1 and 2 will be shut down permanently and can be used again during peak times as a remote boarding lounge.

Dubai Urban Tech District

Dubai Urban Tech District

The Dubai Urban Tech District is designed to be situated along the Al Jaddaf creek area of the emirate, spanning across 140,000 square meters of land. The district will provide facilities for training, research, conferences, business incubations, shared-desk spaces, and dedicated offices.

It will be a home to venture capitals to provide the fuel for entrepreneurs, thus empowering a unique collaborative urban tech ecosystem, and will reportedly create 4,000 jobs. It will provide a wide range of flexible working areas, all of which integrate greenery and natural elements as a proven way to increase the creativity, productivity, and happiness of employees.

SeaWorld Abu Dhabi

SeaWorld Abu Dhabi

The project is the world’s largest marine-based theme park along with a rescue, rehabilitation and research center supporting the local environment and other additional facilities. The 183,000 sqm venue built on five indoor levels is a research and rescue center and a home to over 150 marine species. It is led by marine scientists, veterinarians, animal care professionals, rescue experts and educators.

Dubai Wasl Tower

The Dubai Wasl Tower is a asymmetrical, twisted, tower with a height of 302 meters and expected to open Q2 2024. On completion, the tower’s ceramic façade will display an illusion of dynamic motion, and will have a total of 64 floors with 229 residential units, 258 hotels, 185,345 square feet of office space and 11 parking floors. It’s designed around its Z axis, featuring a classic ‘contrapposto’ movement which will create the illusion that the tower is facing every direction.

Jubail Islands

Jubail Islands

The Islands sits between Saadiyat Island and Yas Island. The project spans 4,500 hectares and is already home to a massive mangrove park. It will accommodate over 5,000 residents, restaurants, a beach club, sports amenities, nurseries, schools, clinics, community, and business centres.

The Islands will feature spacious and well-appointed outdoor areas, including parks, walking tracks, kayaking stations and cycling routes.

Kempinski Floating Palace

The Kempinski Floating Palace is a luxurious five-star hotel set to open in 2023. The main building is designed as a glass pyramid and divided into four parts. Along with 150 guest rooms and suites, the hotel will include 12 luxury villas connected by pontoons.

These villas are available for purchase or rent and are eco-friendly with solar panels. The project will include gourmet restaurants, bars, a spa, pools, boutiques, banquet areas, and the capability for larger yachts to sail in and out at the center of the hotel.

Kempinski Floating Palace
Sharjah Floating Theatre

The new Sharjah floating theater is part of a series of ambitious projects that promise to transform Sharjah’s east coast exclave of Kalba. The theatre’s design was inspired by an idea from Sheikh Dr Sultan and is shaped like a seashell surrounded by water basins.

On completion, It will accommodate 1,000 viewers and will provide a unique view of the Kalba Corniche and the Arabian Sea. The theater is shaped like a seashell, and is in the midst of water basins, a design idea from the Ruler of Sharjah himself.

Baccarat Hotel and Residences Dubai

The project is a stunning architectural masterpiece with angular forms that complement its surroundings. The building’s elegant glass façade provides an unobstructed view of the Burj Khalifa and breathtaking views of Downtown Dubai. The hotel will have 144 rooms and suites, four food and beverage outlets.

World’s first 3D printed mosque in Dubai

The mosque will be the world’s first fully functional 3D printed mosque, and will cost 30 percent higher than building a mosque in the normal way because it is the first of its kind in the world. Located in Bur Dubai, the 2,000sqm mosque is set to open in 2025 and will accommodate 600 worshippers.

The Heart of Europe

The Heart of Europe is an unspoiled destination of 6 islands at Dubai World Islands, and just six kilometers off the emirate’s shores, The self-sufficient upscale resort will be home to around 1,500-year-old Spanish Trees and will have a smart police station, climate-controlled raining street, a zero-emission sustainable ferry, a coral institute, tropical gardens, among others.

The Link by One&Only One Zabeel

One Za’abeel is set to open in 2023, the building will feature two glass towers connected to one another by the world’s longest cantilevered building, called ‘The Link’.

The panoramic glass walls on The Link will house restaurants and bars, glass-walled infinity pool, an observation deck, a gym, a spa, a pool, a banquet hall and a rooftop terrace. The building will have 229 hotel rooms and suites as well as over 90 residential units.

Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi

Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi

Located at the Saadiyat Cultural District, the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi will be a scientific research and teaching institution and home to rare natural history specimens on earth and will feature some of the rarest natural history specimens ever found on the planet. The museum covers a total area of over 35,000 sqm, expected to be completed at the end of 2025. The museum will undertake studies in several areas such as geology, marine biology, molecular research, earth sciences, and more.

Meydan One Mall

The Mall will be located beside “The Link” and will have over 550 retail outlets, as well as a 13,200 sqm hypermarket and will be home to Dubai’s biggest indoor ski slope. Meydan One Mall will accommodate over 30,000 occupants and include a floating stage for concerts and events, fountains, restaurants, cafés, a dynamic boardwalk, winter village, medical center and plaza hotel. The mall will also have a parking capacity for 12,600 vehicles.

The Zayed National Museum

The Zayed National Museum

The Museum is conceived as a monument and memorial to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and will narrate his story, celebrate his achievements, and feature galleries of his values and beliefs. The design resembles the wings of a falcon and features a cluster of atriums, the biggest being 123 meters high. The Museum will be surrounded by a beautifully landscaped garden where landscaping, planting and installations will explore key moments in the life of Sheikh Zayed and his transformation of the UAE.

Ciel Tower

The 82-floor Ciel Tower is set to become the world’s tallest hotel upon its completion. The building will be 365 meters and will house 1,042 luxury suites featuring a glass observation deck on the 82nd floor, offering visitors a 360-degree view across Dubai Marina, the Palm Jumeirah and the Arabian Gulf. Situated at the heart of the Marina, the hotel will surpass the Gevora Hotel, the current tallest hotel in Dubai.
