Dubai's US$1.1 bn Al Ithiad bridge replacing Floating bridge on Creek to be ready by 2018

Al Ittihad Bridge will replace the Floating Bridge, built on Dubai Creek, by early 2018, according to Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). In an expression of interest and pre-qualification invitation, published in a local newspaper, RTA said the tender for the new bridge will be issued in October 2014 with the construction period extending over three years. The much awaited report on an investigation into the decision to award the 2022 World Cup to Qatar, initially scheduled for completion this month, is only likely to be finished in September, according to a FIFA statement. "We expect to deliver our report to the adjudicatory chamber by the first week of September," said a statement issued by FIFA on behalf of its ethics committee on Monday, as per news from Reuters.[..]

The Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone (RAK FTZ) is investing in new infrastructure as part of expansion plans to meet burgeoning demand and capture new segments for the Emirate. Arenco awards two new Dubai Palm Jumeirah hotel contracts to CSCEC: world's third biggest contractor

China State Construction Engineering Co (CSCEC) has won two contracts from Dubai-based developer Arenco Real Estate to build two new hotels at Palm Jumeirah. The hotels, which are on adjoining plots, will be five-star resort hotels of around 100,000 square meters each. They will both contain a basement, ground, 13 upper floors and a roof area. In total, the developments will house 592 standard rooms, 57 two-bay and three-bay suites as well as a presidential suite.[..]
