The UAE construction industry is expected to witness contractor awards totaling to over  US$47Park Lane Tower in Business Bay-12-Jun-2014-Progress Billion in 2014. In 2013, the value of total contracts awarded to contractors was valued at over US$40 Billion, thus forecasting a growth of 17% in 2014. This includes contracts awarded in project sectors – Buildings, Industrial, Infrastructure and Energy.

National Petroleum Construction Co. (NPCC), Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co., Arabtec, Al Jaber Transport and General Contracting, Ghantoot Transport & General Contracting and Al Futtaim Carillion tops the list of contractors in terms of value of contracts awarded in 2014 till date.[..]

Haya Water to Acquire Entire Wastewater projects and assets of Oman

The Oman Council of Ministers today approved transfer and assignment of all waste-water assets and projects in Oman to Haya Water, to enable it to manage all 63 waste-water stations in governorates across the Sultanate including, 1000 kilometers of networks, according to a statement by Haya Water. The company is working to prepare a comprehensive plan to implement government regulations in this regard. Eng. Hussein bin Hassan Abdul Hussein, CEO, Haya Water said in a statement that the company will receive all waste-water assets and projects in Oman from the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources after signing an agreement at the end of this month. He noted that visits were conducted to waste-water stations and projects to closely assess needs and develop future plans for management.[..]
