The Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone (RAK FTZ) is investing in new infrastructure as part of expansion plans to meet burgeoning demand and capture new segments for the Emirate. Arenco awards two new Dubai Palm Jumeirah hotel contracts to CSCEC: world's third biggest contractor

China State Construction Engineering Co (CSCEC) has won two contracts from Dubai-based developer Arenco Real Estate to build two new hotels at Palm Jumeirah. The hotels, which are on adjoining plots, will be five-star resort hotels of around 100,000 square meters each. They will both contain a basement, ground, 13 upper floors and a roof area. In total, the developments will house 592 standard rooms, 57 two-bay and three-bay suites as well as a presidential suite.[..]

The BD 18.1 million (US$ 47.9 million) Pearl Trail project in Muharraq has been given the green light. The iconic cultural development was passed as His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.The Islamic Development Bank had previously increased its initial loan of BD 15 million (US$39.7 million) for the project.[..]

Four contracts totaling US$ 439 million of Gulf Drilling International (GDI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Gulf International Services (GIS) with Qatar Petroleum for the provision of onshore  rigs, were extended for a period of five years with effect from second quarter of 2014. The rigs GDI-1, GDI-2 , GDI-3 and GDI-4 have been working for QP's Dukhan oil fields exclusively since their acquisition in 2004, 2005, 2008, and 2006, respectively.[..]
