Drake & Scull Engineering wins US$ 80 mn MEP contract on Downtown Dubai mixed use, luxury project

Drake & Scull Engineering has announced that it has landed an US$ 80 million (AED 290 million) contract to carry out MEP work on a "luxury, mixed use" project in Downtown Dubai, according to news reports.

The firm did not name the project but said the project was scheduled to complete by next year. It also said the win took the total of new business secured by the group to AED 1 billion (US$ 272 million) within the first four months of 2015, according to Construction Week Online news.

Ahmad Al Naser, managing director of Drake & Scull Enginering, said: “We are pleased to continue our positive start to 2015 by securing the contract for the prestigious mixed use Downtown Dubai development. The project award is a significant milestone in our five decade history in the UAE, which continues to be a major market for the group.

"We are optimistic about the potential of Dubai’s real estate sector as it moves ahead with the Expo 2020-related construction activities."
