Duty free tender for Abu Dhabi Airport released
Posted on 26th November 2014
The delayed duty free tender for Abu Dhabi airport's new terminal will be released this week. Bids for the ambitious project are due in by the end of March 2015.
The tender was delayed while design changes were made to the walkways which passengers in transit will take to make them more secure, according to news reports on Construction Week Online.
Expressions of Interest for non-duty free tenders including food & beverage and retail will be called over the next fortnight with RFPs to follow in January for all remaining categories. The duty free tender is weighted 60% to the technical and 40% to the financial.
The US$ 3 billion Midfield Terminal Building is being built by a joint venture partnership between Arabtec, CCC and TAV. It will be completed by July 2017.
