IHG signs agreement with Bukhamseen Group to build hotels in Kuwait

InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) has signed a 10-year agreement with Bukhamseen Group Holding Company to build and operate hotels in Kuwait.


According to the agreement, Bukhamseen Group has been granted country-wide exclusivity for six IHG brands, including InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Resort, Holiday Inn Express, and Staybridge Suites.

IHG currently operates the Crowne Plaza Al Thuraya City, Holiday Inn Al Thuraya City, and Holiday Inn Salmiya hotels in Kuwait with Bukhamseen Group, according to Constructionweekonline news report.

The firm's latest venture in the country is the InterContinental Al Thuraya, which is currently under construction and is due to open in 2019.

According to Arabian Business, Bukhamseen has operations in several markets in the Middle East including Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Syria, and Lebanon.
