According to *Constructionweekonline news report, UK-headquartered construction and support services company Interserve has been awarded a $9.2m (AED34.7m) contract to design, build, and refurbish a Mövenpick Hotel & Apartments-branded property in Dubai, with UAE subsidiary Khansaheb set to work on the 255-key property under a contract signed with Enaba Hospitality.
Khansaheb's services will include upgrading guestrooms, suites, and corridors in compliance with the latest building regulations in Dubai.
The contracting giant will also deliver major mechanical and electrical work for the hotel, including the replacement of all air conditioning, guestroom management systems, lighting, and sanitaryware.
Enaba's contract with Interserve also includes the replacement of all furniture, fittings, and equipment (FFE), which will be procured through local manufacturers and suppliers.
Project completion is due by September 2019.
Interserve did not state which of the three Mövenpick Hotel & Resorts-branded Dubai properties its contract with Enaba relates to. However, Mövenpick’s website lists its Bur Dubai property as a 255-guestroom.
The Stephen Flint-led Khansaheb, which is currently involved in the construction of the world’s largest sports mall in Dubai, will also advise Enaba Hospitality on any repairs or replacement work that could be implemented for the property.
Jonathan Eveleigh, group business development manager at Khansaheb, said the company was eager to work with Enaba on the development.
“The leisure sector in the Middle East is attracting significant investment and is a key strategic area for Interserve,” added Eveleigh.Back to all Construction News
