SEWA commenced tender process for Water Plant in Sharjah

Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA) has announced the commencement of the competitive tender process to select a developer or developer consortium for the development, financing, engineering, procurement, construction and operation of the 90MIGD Hamriyah Independent Water Plant in Sharjah. Interested parties are asked to express their interest to participate in the tender no later than 2nd June 2022.

ADNOC to build a new liquefied natural gas plant

Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. plans to build a new liquefied natural gas plant in Fujairah with an output capacity of 9.6 million tonnes a year. Adnoc has appointed McDermott International as the design consultant and a contractor is scheduled to be appointed in 2023.

ADAFSA signed two contracts to build and operate two farms

The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has signed two contracts with private sector companies to build and operate two farms, one in Al Ain and the other in Abu Dhabi, with a total value of around US$84.4 million. The first contract was signed with Emirates Hydroponics Farms to build and operate a hydroponic farm while the second contract was signed with the Emirates International Agricultural Advanced Company.

Dubai real estate sales hit $4.9 billion in April 2022

Dubai witnessed 6,983 real estate sales transactions worth $4.9 billion in April 2022, recording the highest ever for the month since 2009. Secondary market sales transactions, comprising 60 percent of the total, constituted 4,212 transactions worth $3.5 billion, with a balance from off-plan properties, constituting 2,771 properties worth a total of $1.4 billion.

Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) signed a full turnkey contract with Mitsubishi Power and SEPCO III consortium to expand Power Station 5 at Alba, adding a new 680.9 megawatts (MW) Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Power Block.
