MEP Awards : WSP's Ray Moore wins MEP Executive of the Year Award

WSP’s Ray Moore has won MEP Executive of the Year at the eighth annual MEP Middle East Awards 2014, held on Wednesday 26 November at Sofitel The Palm Resort & Spa in Dubai.

Moore won the award in a category consisting of George Berbari from DC Pro Engineering, Mick Cairns from Black & White Engineering, Bill Jolly from Ramboll, Brian Lacey from Hyder Consulting, and M. Vasanth Kumar from Arabian MEP Contracting, according to news reports on Construction Week Online.

Accepting the award, Moore said: “It’s a great recognition of the whole business, it’s not just about me. It’s a recognition of how successful we’ve been over the past few years.

"We’ve been growing it through some difficult times over the past three years and it’s lovely to be recognised in this way."

One of the judge’s said that Moore’s “visionary mind and determination to constantly drive improvements have contributed to his company’s success”. Continuing in their praise of the Irishman, the judges added: “His exceptional business achievements are the result of his outstanding leadership. To be a great director, you also have to be a great leader, and he is definitely one of them.”

M. Vasanth Kumar was Highly Commended in the category for his many years of experience in successful projects and being instrumental in his company’s growth. Judges noted that his strong understanding of his local market helps play an important role in realising his company’s projects.

An independent panel of 12 judges voted for the 2014 MEP Middle East Awards made up of industry professionals from across the GCC and throughout the construction sector.
