According to *Constructionweekonline news report, UAE oil and gas company National Petroleum Construction Co (NPCC), the Senaat-held contractor that recently completed Adnoc's Umm Lulu Gas Treatment Plant in Abu Dhabi and works with firms such as Saudi Aramco, is expanding into renewable energy by supplying gear for offshore wind farms.
The company, which builds rigs, storage tanks, and equipment for oil companies in the Middle East and India, reportedly plans to acquire a company in Europe to support its renewable energy expansion.
NPCC's chief executive officer, Ahmed Al Dhaheri, told Bloomberg: “We are looking at developing a new sector, which is renewable energy, and focusing on offshore wind."
The CEO reportedly added that NPCC was bidding on wind projects in the North Sea and also watching wind-equipment tenders from India and Southeast Asia.
“We are looking to fabricate and install electrical distribution structures for offshore wind farms. We have the required resources and engineering capabilities.”Back to all Construction News
