Masdar and Khazna Data Centers develop solar photovoltaic

In the UAE, Emerge, a joint venture between Masdar and EDF, and Khazna Data Centers, has signed an agreement to develop a 7-megawatt peak (MWp) ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) plant which will power Khazna’s new data center in Masdar City.
Emerge will provide a full turnkey solution for the project, including finance, design, procurement, construction, operations, and maintenance, for 25 years.

PureHealth signed contracts with gulf pharmaceutical industries

The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology announced signing 2 MoU’s worth US$70.8 million, the first with PureHealth, and Abu Dhabi Medical Devices Company to establish a production line for medical syringes, administration devices, and blood collection tubes in ICAD 1, Abu Dhabi.
Under a separate MoU, PureHealth and Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries Company (Julphar) will establish a factory in Ras Al Khaimah to produce Glargine, the first long-acting biological alternative to insulin for the treatment of diabetes.

Saipem signed a contract with Qatargas

In Qatar, Saipem has been awarded a contract by Qatargas for the North Field Production Sustainability Offshore Compression Complexes Project – EPC 2.
The contract value amounts to approximately US$4.5 billion. The award represents the largest single offshore contract by total value in the company’s history.

Alfanar builds ground-mounted PV project

In Saudi Arabia, Alfanar has won a US$320 Mn contract from Saudi Arabia Saline Water Conversion Corp. (SWCC) to build a 110 MW ground-mounted PV project at its Jubail 2 Desalination Plant. The project will also include a 380 kV substation and 173 kilometres of overhead transmission lines.

Middle East Paper Co. builds cardboard factory

Also, in the Kingdom, Middle East Paper Co. (MEPCO) approved the preparatory procedures for establishing a cardboard factory with a production capacity of 400,000 tons annually at an investment of nearly US$400 Mn. The factory will be operational within 33 months from the project’s start date.

Galfar Engineering and Contracting won US$12.9mn contract

In Oman, The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates and Galfar Engineering and Contracting Company signed an agreement for roads and infrastructure construction at Mahas Industrial City in Musandam.
The contract, valued at US$12.9mn, includes the construction of an internal road network of 7km, the installation of 100 lighting poles, a 75-meter bridge linking the entrance of the industrial city to the main road, and water and sewage networks of 5km and 4.5km, respectively.

Madinet Nasr Housing and Development awarded DMC a contract

In Egypt, Madinet Nasr Housing and Development signed a US$18.47 Mn agreement with local contractor DMC for the construction of 13 buildings in Lake Park in Taj City. The project is set to be delivered in 18 months.
