Sarooj JV bids for Oman Rail Contract

Oman-based Sarooj Construction Company has entered into a joint venture with three multinational companies to bid for segment one of the Oman railway project, according to news reports in Trade Arabia.
The SPYD consortium includes Austria’s PORR, a specialist in the construction of railway and infrastructure projects; Korea’s Daewoo Engineering and Construction which built the dry docks in Duqm and the 2,000-MW power station in Sur; and Yüksel, a Turkish company with a strong presence in the Middle East region which has been awarded multi-million-dollar projects in Oman.
