SEC approves US$ 78 mn second batch of housing support of 2017

According to *Constructionweekonline news report, the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) has approved $78m (AED286m) for the second batch of housing support of 2017 to 502 beneficiaries.
Khalifa Al Tunaiji, chairman of the Sharjah Housing Department, said: "The housing support comprised loans and grants in Sharjah.
“It also includes cases where people need to build a dwelling, complete construction, and add, maintain or acquire a new house.”
The council also approved a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Sharjah Foundation to support pioneering entrepreneurs.
The MoU aims to enhance cooperation between the two parties to promote and support small and medium-sized economic projects.
The SEC discussed several key governance issues and reviewed infrastructural and developmental projects in various fields, including development of infrastructure in the sewage sector in the emirate of Sharjah.
Ali bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, chairman of SDPW, said that the department, in coordination with the Sharjah Municipality, has worked on studying the situation of sewage stations and expanding developmental proposals that contribute to providing the best infrastructure in the sewage sector.
