Qatargas awards a contact to McDermott

McDermott has won a contract valued between $750m and $1.5bn from Qatargas to deliver engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) for the North Field Production Sustainability (NFPS) Offshore Fuel Gas Pipeline and Subsea Cables Project, COMP1.

The contract includes the installation of 190 kilometers of 32-inch diameter subsea pipelines, 17 kilometers of subsea composite cables, 186 kilometers of fiber optic cables, and 10 kilometers of onshore pipelines.

EWEC receives proposals for a new Independent Power Project

In UAE, EWEC (Emirates Water and Electricity Company) announced the receipt of four proposals from ACWA Power, EDF Renewables, Marubeni Corporation, and a consortium consisting of Jinko Power and JERA, for the development of the new 1,500 MW (AC), Al Ajban Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Independent Power Project (IPP).

Once commercially operational, the plant will generate enough electricity to power approximately 160,000 homes across the UAE and is expected to reduce Abu Dhabi’s CO2 emissions by up to 2.4 million metric tonnes per year. It will also raise EWEC’s total solar power capacity to approximately 4 gigawatts (AC).

Damac Properties launches the Golf Greens

Damac Properties launched a new premium residential project named Golf Greens within its Damac Hills master development community in Dubai.

Golf Greens will offer one and two bedroom apartments as well as 2-3 bedroom townhouses with an array of amenities, including infinity pools, lounge areas, and mini golf courses within the apartment complex and also access to several themed areas for leisure and entertainment within the expansive parkland.

KEZAD Group partners with Global Fluorine Chemical Factory

Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi – KEZAD Group announced that it has signed an agreement with its client Global Fluorine Chemical Factory LLC (GFCF) for the establishment of its phase two in KEZAD Mussafah, which will allow the company to triple its production capacity.

The company will invest over US$272 Mn in the new facility on an adjacent plot that spans an additional 120,000 square meters. Four more chemical products will be added to GFCF’s product mix with the opening of the second phase of the factory

TotalEnergies and Altaaqa secured a contract

In KSA, Japanese group Toyota Tsusho Corporation has announced that its joint venture with French TotalEnergies Renewables and local Altaaqa Renewable Energy secured a contract from the Saudi Power Procurement Company for a 119MW solar power plant in the Wadi Ad Dawasir region.

Toyota Tsusho is setting up the $100 million project through a joint venture company, Noor Alwadi Renewable Energy Company, and will be implemented on a build, own, operate model.

Engie partners with the Public Investment Fund

French utility company Engie signed a memorandum of understanding with the Public Investment Fund for the joint development of green hydrogen projects and its derivatives in Saudi Arabia. PIF and ENGIE will evaluate the feasibility of the co-development opportunity.

Omran Group receives EOI from consultants

In Oman, interested consultants submitted Expressions of Interest to Omran Group for the concept master planning of the overall Madinat Al Irfan East site and preparing a comprehensive masterplan and architectural design guidelines for a block of approximate area of 175,000sq.m.
