Stage two of Oman’s waterpark development in Salalah commences

Stage two of Oman’s waterpark development in Salalah commences as agreements were signed between the government and the developer.


Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan al- Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar signed the $7.8m (OMR3m) second stage agreement with Wasal Development and Investment Company.

The waterpark project is located in the municipal recreational centre in Sahal Attin (Attin Plain) in Salalah on an area of 3ha, according to Oman News Agency (ONA).

The second stage of the project includes the construction of the administration building, service facilities and parking, as well as the management, operation, and maintenance of the two stages of the project for a period of 25 years, according to Constructionweekonline news report.

The agreement also provides for the investment of a piece of land south of the waterpark project on an area of 5ha for 50 years for a five-star hotel, commercial complex, multipurpose halls, as well as the establishment of a group international restaurants, and a children's garden.

The agreements come in translation of the directives of the government for the development of urban expansion and prosperity of the commercial, economic and tourism activity in the Governorate of Dhofar.
