Abu Dhabi Municipality announces more Community Centres

The Municipality of Abu Dhabi announced a new tender on Sunday to build and operate the community facilities in Yas Island, Al Shamkha and Mohammad Bin Zayed City. According to the details announced by the Municipality, the structure in Yas Island will span about 22,000 square metres while the centre in Mohammad Bin Zayed City will be about 26,000 square metres. In Al Shamkha, the community centre will be about 23,000 square metres in size. Each of the facilities will house nearly 6,000 square metres of retail outlets.[..]

Oman to issue design and build prequalification tender soon for National Rail scheme

OMAN's minister of transport and communications, Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed al Futaisi, this week confirmed that a tender for prequalification of contractors for design and build, and systems packages for Oman's national railway project will be issued this month. Al Futaisi said that the systems contractor will act as a subcontractor to the design and build contractor, with both having to submit one combined bid. He says that if the prequalification tender proceeds as expected, he anticipates awarding the 171km Sohar - Buraimi construction contract by the end of the year, and civil works to commence on Oman's first railway project in the first quarter of 2015. The prequalification tender will be valid for four years, with any prequalified contractor able to bid for subsequent railway contracts.[..]

Dubai's Nakheel Properies awarded three contracts worth more than Dhs.41 Million for its Al Furjan and Warsan Village master communities in February 2014. Two of the contracts cover infrastructure design and supervision services for hundreds of third party villa and mixed use plots at a new phase of Al Furjan. Consultants Arif & Bintoak and Dar Al Handasah were handed contracts worth Dhs.13.6 Million and Dhs.2.9 Million respectively.[..]

MAG Group to develop Dhs.800Mn project in Dubai Healthcare City

Dubai based MAG Group announced the signing of a joint venture agreement with Dubai Healthcare City to develop approximately one million square feet mixed-use project in Dubai Healthcare City at an estimated cost of around Dhs.800 million. The development will include two hospitals covering a total of 260,000 square feet, plus an 80,000 square feet clinic; a residential complex of four buildings with combined gross floor area of 430,000 square feet; a hotel apartment with a gross floor area of 80,000 square feet and 100,000 square feet of retail space. The project will also include a mosque and one of the most advanced automated car parks and extensive hard and soft landscaping.[..]

Picture2In a recent exclusive interview with Gulf News, Shaikh Sultan Bin Ahmad Al Qasimi, Head of Sharjah Islamic Culture Capital Executive Committee and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Centre, stated that new projects are set to transform the emirate of Sharjah as it takes the title of Islamic Culture Capital of the Arab region 2014. Twenty-four projects are planned in total.
