Soliman Fakeeh Hospital, a Saudi Arabian hospital has decided to build a US$ 533 million college hospital in the Silicon Oasis, Dubai. An Italian firm has been appointed to design the 300 bed hospital cum medical college project and it is scheduled to be completed by the last quarter of 2017.
“The SAR 2bn medical academic project that the Soliman Fakeeh Hospital plans to establish in collaboration with the UAE at Dubai’s Silicon (Oasis) is part of the hospital’s expansion plan,” stated the chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of the Soliman Fakeeh Hospital Mazen Fakeih in a statement to Arab News.[..]

Luxury Asian hotel operator, Mandarin Oriental Hotel is likely to enter the UAE market as Wasl Properties today revealed its intent to build the first Mandarin Oriental hotel in Dubai. An earlier project plan to build a Mandarin Oriental Hotel on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi was put on hold in 2012. According to Wasl Properties, 235-key Dubai hotel will be built on a site at Jumeirah Beach Road. Domestic Tourism Boosts Hotel Occupancy in KSA

According to a Report by the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities, an increase in the tourism infrastructure across the Kingdom, there has been a massive onset of tourists to the tune of 4.8 million passengers between 2012 and 2013. This in turn has triggered a growth in hotel investments and employment across the hospitality industry in KSA. The Kingdom now sports around 3,700 accommodation facilities, a third of which are hotels and others include furnished apartments all totaling around 300, 000 rooms with occupancies hovering at over 64 percent. Employment to service these hotels has consequently also hit a new high of 1.1 million staff members within the hospitality sector. Tourism has contributed nearly SR 75 billion (US$ 19.9 billion) to the Kingdom's GDP, accounting for just over 3 percent of the GDP and over three fourth's of the hotel investments in the Kingdom have centered around Makkah and Madina alone.[..]
