Domestic Tourism Boosts Hotel Occupancy in KSA

According to a Report by the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities, an increase in the tourism infrastructure across the Kingdom, there has been a massive onset of tourists to the tune of 4.8 million passengers between 2012 and 2013. This in turn has triggered a growth in hotel investments and employment across the hospitality industry in KSA. The Kingdom now sports around 3,700 accommodation facilities, a third of which are hotels and others include furnished apartments all totaling around 300, 000 rooms with occupancies hovering at over 64 percent. Employment to service these hotels has consequently also hit a new high of 1.1 million staff members within the hospitality sector. Tourism has contributed nearly SR 75 billion (US$ 19.9 billion) to the Kingdom's GDP, accounting for just over 3 percent of the GDP and over three fourth's of the hotel investments in the Kingdom have centered around Makkah and Madina alone.[..]

Viceroy to operate two more hotels in Dubai

Arabtec Holding has selected Viceroy Hotel Group to operate two properties it is currently developing in Dubai. The hotels which are scheduled to open in late 2016 and 2017 respectively will be located on Sheikh Zayed Road and in Dubai Business Bay. The new properties will join the previously announced Viceroy Dubai PalmJumeirah, which is set to open in late 2016 on the trunk of the Palm Jumeirah.[..]

Gulf Hotels Group plans two Hotel properties in Dubai

Gulf Hotels Group is planning to set up two five-star hotels in Dubai over the next few years, reported Gulf Daily News. The Group Chairman Farouk Almoayyed has confirmed that that an investment of BD50 million ($132m) has been made for the development of the five-star 'Gulf Hotel Business Bay'. The project, currently in the design stage, is expected to be open by mid 2017. The hotel will feature 230 rooms, three fine-dining restaurants, a variety of function halls and meeting facilities, a spa and fitness centre and other top-class facilities including substantial car parking.[..]
