Nakheel announces plans for Dubai Deira Island Project, Contracts Awarded

Dubai master developer Nakheel has announced  plans for a 620,000 square meters retail, dining and entertainment hub   for its new waterfront development projects at Deira Islands, Dubai. The master developer in its capacity as the design and supervision consultant for the Deira Island Mall development, announced in a statement that it has awarded contracts worth US$ 10.8 million (AED 40 million) to RSP architects, planners and engineers. The mall will have over 200,000 square meters of leasable space, hundreds of shops, cinemas and a wide variety of cafes and restaurants, Nakheel said.[..]

Abu Dhabi's Ferrari World announces expansion plans

Ferrari World has announced plans to open seven more rides over the next three years, which they say will increase the capacity of the theme park by 40%. With Yas Mall due to open around the time of the Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this year, visitor numbers at the venue are expected to rise, according to Jesse Vargas, speaking at a media briefing this week. Vargas, who took over as the theme park’s general manager in February, said construction of the new rides will start by the end of the year. There are also plans to extend three of its existing 20 rides and to increase the number of restaurants.[..]

Al Futtaim Group signs deal to build US$1.6 Billion Festival City in Saudi Arabia

Dubai-based Al Futtaim Group signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Riyadh’s Kayannat Real Estate to build Al Diriyah Festival City- the largest shopping mall in Saudi Arabia. The shopping mall will have 250,000 square metres of gross leasable area (GLA) and will be located at the Al Diriyah district in Riyadh near King Saud University and King Abdullah Financial district, the group said in a statement.[..]

Nakheel issues tender to build community retail centre in Badrah area

MAF to build 1m sqft mall at IMPZ

Majid Al Futtaim and Tecom Investments, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dubai Holding,  have reached an agreement under which Majid Al Futtaim Properties will build a new shopping mall on a 1,000,000 square feet of land located in International Media Production Zone (IMPZ). Phase 1 of the mall, scheduled to be completed in 2015, is expected to function as a community shopping mall as well as an attraction for businesses and employees based within IMPZ. The mall will be located Dubai near the intersection of Al Khail Road and Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road serving three  residential areas, Victory Heights, Jumeirah Golf Estates and Jumeirah Village, in addition to other communities such as Motor City, Sports City and Arabian Ranches.[..]
