Thailand’s largest operator of hotels, Centara Hotels and Resorts confirmed plans to open a four-star hotel in Oman as part of its expansion in the Middle East. Centara Muscat Hotel will be operated under a management contract and is scheduled to open on June 1, 2015. Irfan International Hotel Limited Liability Company owns the property.

Centara's entry into Oman marks its second step into the Middle East, with its first property, in Qatar announced in February this year.

“This four-star hotel will have approximately 154 guest rooms, with two food and beverage outlets, a swimming pool, and a spa and fitness centre. The hotel will also include extensive meeting facilities,” said Chris Bailey, senior vice president for sales and marketing at Centara Hotels and Resorts, reported Muscat Daily.

He said, “Oman becomes our tenth overseas destination, and we deeply appreciate the trust that international investors are placing in our unique Thai style of hotel management.”

“The Middle East region is a strategic one for us, and we are delighted to be announcing the opening of the Centara Muscat Hotel,” says Thirayuth Chirathivat, chief executive officer of Centara Hotels & Resorts.
