Thumbay Group to build 6 hospitals and 12 clinics in UAE

Dubai-based Thumbay Group has revealed it will build 6 hospitals and 12 clinics in UAE, and outside, as part of its $326 million (AED1.2bn) expansion plan.

According to Akbar Moideen, vice president of the group which currently runs four hospitals, the firm is building six new hospitals and 12 clinics in the UAE, Qatar, Egypt, India and other countries.

The expansion of its healthcare facilities, including hospitals, medical universities, clinics and pharmacies, will “help meet the demand that will see the development of 420 new establishments in the next four years,” Akbar told Emirates 247, according to Constructionweekonline news report.

The group also revealed that the expansion plan will create more than 10,000 jobs by 2021.

Thumbay staff is expected to increase from the current 4,000 employees to approximately 15,000 by 2021, founder president of Thumbay Group Thumbay Moideen said.
