According to *Constructionweekonline news report, Dubai's high-profile $1.4bn (AED5.1bn) Royal Atlantis Resort and Residences project will open by the end of Q3 2020, the executive vice president and managing director of Atlantis Resorts and Residences, Timothy Kelly, has reportedly confirmed.
“The Royal Atlantis project is coming together quite well," Kelly told Construction Week's sister title Arabian Business.
"All of the design is complete, now it is just about finishing the project. We will have the building topped off in the coming weeks and with that we are starting to fit out."
The 42-storey, 800-key Palm Jumeirah property will feature 11 restaurants – of which six will have celebrity chefs – and be operated as a sister property for Atlantis, The Palm, which Kelly confirmed was also undergoing a revamp.
Room renovation work, which has been ongoing since last year at Atlantis, The Palm, is on track to complete by early-October, Kelly said.
Also under way for Atlantis, The Palm is painting work, which is due to complete in October as well.
Design work is ongoing for the expansion of the property's Aquaventure Waterpark, due to open next year with new towers, rides, entertainment options, and the world's longest slide as well.
