Dutco Balfour Beatty awarded US$380mn Dubai Mall contract

Emaar Properties awarded a US$381 Million contract to Dutco Balfour Beatty, the Dubai-based joint venture arm of Balfour Beatty for an extension of  the Dubai Mall. Dutco Balfour Beatty will build a new fashion avenue between the existing mall and the Burj Khalifa, which will expand its capacity to over 100mn annual visitors.

The MEP work on the mall will be carried out by BK Gulf, which will use its own pre-fabrication facility to make up mdules off-site. The project is due for completion in early 2016.

Dutco Balfour Beatty along with CCC were the contractors for the actual Dubai Mall project which was completed during November 2008.
