The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has signed a deal with Alba Nova International and Trafalgar Co. Ltd. to set up an integrated bunker station at the King Fahad Industrial Port in partnership with the Ministry of Energy.

The overall holding capacity for the pioneering project is expected to hit 2.5 million metric tons on completion and estimated to cost US$533mn.

Spread over a 470,000m2 area, the project, which will be implemented on a public-private-partnership (PPP) will boast waterfront restaurants, a grand market, square and fountain island, suspended walkways and a botanical garden in addition to theaters and venue for specialised exhibitions and events.
