Khalifa Industrial Zone signs US$ 76 million deal with Al Khaili Group to Build Two Manufacturing Facilities

Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad), today signed a US$ 76 million (AED 280 million)  Mustaha agreement with Saif Al Khalili group of Abu Dhabi to build two manufacturing facilities at the industrial zone.  As one of the first production plants of its kind in the UAE and a significant step toward the diversifcation efforts under Abu Dhabi's Economic Vision 2030, the factory would be set up at Kizad's mixed use cluster with a plot size of 1,102,238 square feet .

The plant would be the first in the Emirate to produce caustic soda and other chlorine derivatives, to be used in various industry sectors, ranging from aluminium and oil, to steel and chemicals, with an expected production capacity of 400,000 tons per year.Lower Gulf, Siemens LLC, a company with headquarters in Germany, has been awarded the design contract for one of the facilities: the Emirates Chemical Factory. The second agreement, valid for 30 years, will be for a food processing plant that will be built in Kizad’s food cluster on a 284,435 square feet plot of land. The manufacturing facility will produce ready-made meals for industrial catering, capable of producing 70,000 meals per day. The building will also house the group’s management offices.
