Dubai's famous developer Nakheel is all set to bring an international brand name in the hospitality industry to its Palm Jumeirah project as it signed a letter of intent with Hong Kong based Shangri La Hotels and Resorts today.
Nakheel and Shangri La signed an agreement for the management of the luxury hotel in the Palm Tower, Nakheel's latest five star hotel cum residential development, comprising 504 high-end furnished apartments, a five star hotel with 290 rooms and suites occupying the first 18 floors of the building, a rooftop leisure and dining complex including a 50th floor, 360 degree infinity swimming pool expected to be the highest in Dubai, bordering all four sides of the building.
The Palm Tower, construction of which is likely to begin this year, will be directly linked to Nakheel Mall, a 418,000 square meter retail and entertainment hot spot with 300 shops, 12 fine dining restaurants, as well as cinemas, a medical center and fitness center. Nakheel has already awarded a contract for AED 1.2 billion for the mall's construction, which is also expected to start soon. The Palm Tower will also have direct bridge access to Club Vista Mare, one of Nakheel's new beach club complexes on the island.
