Barwa appoints AEB to deliver Motor City project for US$ 13.4 mn contract

Barwa Real Estate Group has appointed Arab Engineering Bureau (AEB) to deliver its Motor City development in Qatar.
The QR 49 million (US$ 13.4 million) contract covers the pre-concept master plan, infrastructure and architectural design, in addition to cost management and tender documentation services. Barwa Real Estate revealed the Motor City project, a 1.15 million square meters plot in Rawdat Rashid near Salwa Road, in October.
Upon its completion, the Motor City will provide showrooms with a wide range of used-cars services, car workshops, maintenance centres, and warehouses for used cars as well as rent-a-car services. More services, such as offices for the traffic department, technical testing, offices for the Ministry of Interior, Civil Defence, Ministry of Municipality, banks and car insurance offices will also be available at the location.
The project will also contain commercial units, a hotel, staff accommodation for families, workers’ accommodation, a driving school and a race track, as well as other necessary facilities.
