Oman Railways Company - Pre-qualification commences on the Infrastructure and IT systems

The Oman Railways Company is inviting firms to pre-qualify to build infrastructure and IT systems for the first part of the line, which will run from Al Buraimi to the port of Sohar, according to the official Oman News Agency. The estimated cost of this phase is around US$2.6bn. Those companies who will be pre-qualified in this list will be considered for future stages of the project linking via Muscat to Duq'm and Salalah ports.[..]

Emaar and Abdul Lateef Jameel signs MoU for property projects in the Kingdom

Saudi Arabian business conglomerate Abdul Latif Jameel and  UAE's Emaar Properties on Tuesday announced that they have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop integrated property projects in Saudi Arabia. The two companies will launch the projects under the partnership entity, Emaar Jameel, a statement said. Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel, president of Abdul Latif Jameel, and Mohamed Alabbar, chairman of Emaar, signed the MoU, it added. Nakheel launched the 50-storey The Palm Tower Residences comprising 504 luxury units in Palm Jumeirah. The Palm Tower, part of the new Nakheel Mall and Hotel complex in Palm Island includes serviced, fully-furnished studios and one, two and three bedroom apartments with uninterrupted, panoramic views of Palm Jumeirah, the Arabian Gulf and Dubai’s skyline. The Palm Tower also includes a five star, 290-room hotel with an array of dining and leisure facilities, including a rooftop restaurant, viewing tower and infinity pool – all of which are available to people living in the Palm Tower Residences. Samsung Engineering bagged US$800 Million deal to develop Algerian gas field

South Korean construction company Samsung Engineering announced that it had won a contract worth US$800 million to develop a gas field in Algeria. Under the contract, Samsung Engineering will build a central processing facility (CPF) and pipelines for the Timimoun gas field, about 800 kilometers southwest of Algiers, the capital of the North African country. The CPF will be capable of handling 177 million standard cubic feet of gas per day.[..]

Construction bids received for Nakheel Mall

Nakheel announced that it has received six proposals for the construction of Nakheel Mall, its 418,000 square metre retail, dining and entertainment complex on Palm Jumeirah. Bids started at Dhs1.185 billion, the company said in a statement. The construction contract is expected to be awarded within three months, it added.[..]
