Dubai 's Rashid Hospital AED 161 mn Expansion -Construction Works Begin

Construction work has commenced on the expansion of the Trauma and Emergency Centre of Rashid Hospital, according to Dubai Health Authority (DHA) at an estimated cost of AED 161 million (US$ 26.16 million) , with the aim of adding 160 beds to the facility and likely to be completed in 12 months.

The expansion is a part of  the first phase of a master plan for Rashid hospital announced in May 2013.  The project estimated at US$ 490 million (AED 3 billion) will include six new specialized health centres, a four star and a five star hotel, villas and flats for staff accommodation apart from a mosque, lakeway, landscaping and open spaces for children and families.  The main hospital is to be rebuilt with three seven storied towers with a capacity of 300 beds- taking the total capacity up to 900 beds.
