Expo pavilion contracts to fuel the contractor awards in 2019

Nearly US$30 Bn. worth of contracts were awarded to contractors in 2018 as per Projects Intelligence tracker Ventures ONSITE. With the new budget announcement, the Dubai government continues its spending on infrastructure related projects that would meet the emirate’s expansion needs for the Expo 2020 and beyond. In the 2019 budget, an amount equivalent to Dhs.9.2 Bn. is earmarked for infrastructure. Out of the total budgeted spending of Dhs.56.8 Bn. for 2019, 33% of expenditures are allocated for housing, education and health care.

In Dubai’s construction sector, new contractor awards will be driven by Expo 2020 related projects for 2019. Some of the pavilion contracts (expected to be awarded to contractors soon) include the following:
