Saraya Bandar Jissah on Wednesday hosted the ground-breaking ceremony for the second major construction stage of Oman's newest Integrated Tourism Complex (ITC), located in the heart of the touristic area to the southeast of Muscat. The ceremony took place on site under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Asa'ad bin Tariq Al Said, Representative of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, in the presence of dignitaries including members of the Omani royal family, ministers, undersecretaries and business leaders.
The US$600 million project is promoted as 'Oman's newest luxury address'. The project will provide two 5 star hotels operated by Jumeirah Group with 318 rooms, including a beachfront ballroom for weddings and events, international cuisine restaurants and sports activities including a dive centre.
"This second stage of construction reflects Saraya Bandar Jissah's commitment to the development of a world class touristic destination in the beautiful natural surroundings of Oman. Over the past years we have been engaged in the preparatory works on site to ensure the future smooth flow of construction and timely delivery of an operational resort destination for residents to enjoy from day one," Sheikh Hamood bin Sultan Al Hosani, CEO of Saraya Bandar Jissah said during the ceremony. "Understanding the importance of this historic site we have only developed 20 per cent of the land area and incorporated the historic landmarks within the design as demonstrated in our introductory animation," he added.
