HH Sheikh Mohammed inspects US$ 1.2 bn Concourse D at Dubai International Airport

Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, inspected the $1.2bn (AED4.5bn) Concourse D at Dubai International Airport on 26 May.

The facility spans a built up area of 15ha, and has been constructed by ALEC.

The new building is the world's first aviation facility to receive the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC).

Dedicated first and business class lounges have been developed in the building.

Sheikh Mohammed was briefed on the building's design and components during his tour, according to Constructionweekonline news report.

The Ruler is also reported to have entered a transfer train that connects Terminal 1 with Concourse D over a 1.5km trip to the departures hall.

The hall includes a 13,00sqm area for shopping, including the free market, shops, restaurants and other leisure facilities, according to Dubai Media Office.
