HLG signs US$ 395 mn Jewel of the Creek mixed use project contract in Port Saeed, Dubai

Habtoor Leighton Group (HLG) has signed a AED 1.45 billiuon (US$ 395 million) contract with Dubai International Real Estate (DIRE) to deliver Package 8 of its Jewel of the Creek mixed-use project in Port Saeed, Dubai.This project forms a significant part of the AED 3 billion (US$ 816 million) Jewel of the Creek development, which HLG has worked on since 2012 when the Group was appointed to construct and complete the substructure works for four basement levels and ground floor slabs on the waterside site between Al Maktoum Bridge, Baniyas Road and the Floating Bridge.
H.E Khalil Al Sayegh, general manager of DIRE, said: “This is a significant project in terms of geographical location and strategic importance, and in terms of technical and commercial value. We are proud and elated to have awarded Package 8 of our Jewel of the Creek project to the Habtoor Leighton Group, as a continuation of HLG’s accomplishment in delivering previous work on Jewel of the Creek. Upcoming packages for the Jewel of the Creek project will include a 4-star hotel, mixed-use residential offices and retail. We wish HLG every success in fulfilling the requirements of this project in a timely manner.”
HLG’s scope of works involves the construction and completion of: five hospitality buildings ranging between 15 and 19 floors, featuring a hotel and serviced apartments, a ballroom and an attached café; a marina, including four foot bridges and one vehicular bridge; and hard and soft landscaping works. HLG chairman, Riad T. Sadik, added: “Jewel of the Creek is of great significance to HLG and we are honoured to have been selected as DIRE’s contractor of choice.”Back to all Construction News
