Nakheel floats tender for substation for Deira Islands project

Nakheel has launched a tender for a contractor to design and build a trio of substations at its Deira Islands project in Dubai.

The scope of works includes complete design, construction of buildings, supplying and erecting equipment, testing and commissioning of the DEWA-approved 132/11kV substations.


The deadline for tender submissions is noon on 19 April, 2015, according to news reports on Construction Week Online.

Deira Islands is comprised of a spacious waterfront promenade and Night Souk district and measures approximately 1.9 kilometers, divided into four villages. It is planned to be constructed with a prefabricated system, allowing light and easy construction, development flexibility and optimised future tenant fit-out.

The Souk will be a main attraction of the island, providing food and beverage outlets at the front, utilising the back portion for various retailers. The Night Market and Boardwalk will provide Deira Islands with a unique retail destination for residents and tourist alike
