According to *Constructionweekonline news report, Investment Corporation of Dubai-owned (ICD) Ithra Dubai revealed that construction work on Phase 1 of its Deira Enrichment Project is taking shape as planned in the Deira area, with the company set to begin handover of Phase 1 of the project from the end of 2019.

Construction work on Plot 3 of Deira Enrichment Project is 85% complete. Plots 2 and 11 have noted 75% and 70% completion, while Plots 1 and 13 are 60% complete.

Chief executive officer of Ithra Dubai, Issam Galadari, said during a press briefing: “Deira Enrichment Project will follow a lease and retain, model and none of the units are for sale.”

Speaking to Construction Week about the key challenges associated with the project, Galadari said: “We are developing a project on which construction is beginning from the ground level, as we have the Shindagha Tunnel and Dubai Metro stations running underneath the site.

"Every part of the project was planned in a way that none of the existing structures and facilities would be damaged. This was challenging and we have invested our time in planning this very well."

Ithra Dubai, in coordination with Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority, installed sensors in Shindagha Tunnel to track vibrations that might be caused by the construction work it was carrying out above the structure.

Phase 1 of Deira Enrichment Project, which spans 61ha, has been divided into 12 districts and will house 47 mixed-use buildings.

These structures will comprise 2,200 residential and 843 retail units, in addition to six hotels — three of which will be operated by Wyndham Hotels & Resorts — and 416 commercial and office spaces.
