The GCC and MEA Region construction markets continue to gain momentum. This month’s edition features some of the region’s most significant project launches and contract awards, from energy and infrastructure to hospitality and real estate.

Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) awarded a contract to Archirodon Construction Company Limited for the Shuaiba Oil Pier New South Arm Facility, valued at US$523.4 Mn.
The construction of Shuaiba Oil Pier’s New South Arm Facility will complement the existing infrastructure, enabling it to handle more refined oil products while improving loading and unloading activities at the port.

Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) has won a major renewable energy contract in Saudi Arabia, leading a consortium that will develop the 1,500 MW Dawadmi wind power project west of Riyadh. The project, worth US$839 Mn, is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader renewable initiative, which includes five new solar and wind projects totaling 4,500 MW and US$2.4 Bn in investments.
The KEPCO consortium includes Etihad Water and Electricity (39.99%) and Nesma (20%), with KEPCO holding the largest stake at 40.01%. The group submitted a record-low levelized cost of electricity of 1.33803 cents per kWh, marking a new global benchmark in wind power generation costs.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, launched the Mohammed bin Rashid Endowment District, spanning 2 million square feet, with total investments of US$1.28 Bn.
The master plan for the Mohammed bin Rashid Endowment District, under the umbrella of the MBRGI, includes a state-of-the-art 250-bed hospital capable of handling over 90,000 cases annually. The hospital will feature dedicated housing for medical staff, a medical college, and two schools covering all educational stages, with a combined capacity of 5,000 students. It also features 25 endowment buildings with more than 2,000 diverse residential units.

Expo City Dubai appointed Engineering Contracting Company (ECC) as the main contractor for the Sidr Residences project. The project, expected to be completed in 2027, comprises three interconnected towers, two with 15 floors and one with 13 floors. Sidr Residences will offer 421 apartments, lofts, and townhouses ranging from one to four bedrooms.

Union Properties launched ‘Mirdad,’ the company’s second landmark development in Dubai’s Motor City. Valued at US$544.59 Mn and spanning a 356,931 sq. ft. land area, Mirdad comprises four iconic towers of varying heights, which will include 1,087 apartments available from studios to three-bedroom units.
Mirdad offers more than 26 indoor and outdoor amenities and also includes EV chargers across 50% of parking spaces, landscaped green zones, and energy-efficient building systems to reduce environmental impact.

H&H has announced the launch of The Carlyle Residences Dubai, marking the brand’s first-ever residences outside New York. The 32-storey tower will be located in Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Sir David Chipperfield.
The interiors will be designed by Paris-based designer Tristan Auer. The Carlyle Residences will offer 40 private apartments ranging from two to five bedrooms.

PRE Group officially launched “MASSIV,” the latest phase of its flagship project, Big Business District (BBD), in the heart of New Cairo. The announcement also marked the unveiling of the Zaha Hadid Towers, designed by the late world-renowned architect Zaha Hadid.
Spanning 48 acres, the project features administrative, commercial, and medical units, along with a hotel and branded serviced apartments. The new MASSIV phase covers a total built-up area of 40,000 sqm and comprises 17 buildings that include fully finished offices and clinics, as well as semi-finished retail units.

Talaat Moustafa Group (TMG) has announced the start of construction on a new integrated luxury tourism and hospitality project located directly behind the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) in Giza. Developed through TMG’s subsidiary ICON, in partnership with NUCA and Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, the project spans 42.4 feddans (≈350,000 sqm) and will feature a five-star hotel with 495 rooms, serviced residences, retail, and entertainment areas.
With a total investment of US$788 Mn, the development will include pedestrian tunnels linking it directly to the GEM. The project is expected to be completed in three years.
