Wouter Molman, Exhibition Director at Informa, the organizers of Cityscape Global talks to Ventures Onsite about the upcoming Cityscape Global 2013 event (http://www.cityscapeglobal.com) scheduled to take place from 8-10 October 2013 in Dubai World Trade Centre.

1. Can you tell us more about the 2013 edition of Cityscape Global?

Cityscape Global is generally seen as the annual barometer for the real estate industry, welcoming over 25,000 real estate professionals and investors to Dubai. Many of the developers exhibiting at the event ensure that the launch of their latest projects and construction phases coincide with Cityscape Global, and as such it is a unique opportunity for investors to see all investment opportunities available on the market under one roof. This year’s event will build on the positive market sentiment that has been building up over the past 18 months, and will feature the largest numbers of real estate companies we have welcomed to the event in 4 years. The exhibition is 50% bigger for the second consecutive year, with 2 additional exhibition halls and covering a total of 25,000 square meters of exhibition space.

 2. What is the increase in exhibitors compared to 2012 edition of the event?

Cityscape Global 2013 will welcome over 200 of the world’s leading real estate companies to showcase their developments and services at this year event, nearing a 25% growth in participation numbers year-on-year. We are still receiving updates from our exhibitors on the number of companies represented at their stand, and will be able to announce the exact number of exhibitors closer to the event. This growth can be directly linked to the large number of UAE developers returning to the exhibition following the resurgence of the property market. We are also seeing a stronger participation from international companies, most notably from Turkey, Egypt, Qatar, UK and Kuwait. Our full exhibitor list and exhibition floor plan are available on our website www.cityscapeglobal.com, where all visitors have the opportunity to see who they can look forward to meet at the event this year.

 3. As always, can we expect launch of new projects by your exhibitors for the region?

Yes, several UAE and overseas developers have already informed us on their plans to launch either brand new developments or new phases that are part of ongoing master developments, and generally they have some more surprise launches that we aren’t aware of in advance. While we are not in the position to give out any details on these launches, our visitors certainly have a lot of exciting announcements to look forward to during the week of Cityscape Global.

4.  What are your expectations of the visitor turnout this year?

Cityscape Global 2012 was a resounding success welcoming just over 25’000 participants from 93 countries, representing a 25% increase on the previous year. With the continued growth of the exhibition this year, we are undertaking the largest promotional campaign in the show’s history. In doing so, we leave no stone unturned to highlight the developments and services on showcase to all industry professionals and investors from around the region looking to attend the event.

While it is hard to give an exact estimation on the visitor numbers for the upcoming event, generally the local and regional market sentiment gives us a good indication of the footfalls we can expect to receive at the show. Also, our pre-registration numbers, which are already showing a double digit year-on-year increase, give us a some idea on the number of visitors we can expect.

 5.  Is there any value addition a visitor can expect from this year’s event which was not there in the last year’s edition?

Aside from the event being substantially larger and therefore obviously having much more to offer in terms of investment opportunities and real estate services, we are constantly looking to enhance our visitor experience by implementing new initiatives that help them to get most of the event. This year we have improved our business matching service, allowing all preregistered visitors to set up meetings with exhibitors, conference speakers and delegates prior to the exhibition. This has been supported by the introduction of our new and interactive online floor plan, allowing our audience to search the location and profiles of all of our exhibitors, and filter their search based on their specific preferences.
