UAE, Bahrain and Egypt along with Saudi Arabia decided to normalize relationship and restore full diplomatic ties with Qatar, a decision expected to have a positive impact on Qatar as well as the GCC region as a whole.
Furthermore, according to IMF, despite its 2.6% decline in 2020, the Qatar economy is expected to grow by 2.4% in 2021. As for the country’s non-oil GDP, IMFanticipates a growth of 3.3% in 2021 and 4.6% in 2022, which is a significant rise compared to the 5% decline in 2020.
Qatar had set a 2021 budget of$53.5 billion, a 7.5% cut in expenditure from 2020, and forecast a deficit of 34.6 billion riyals on lower revenues. The Gulf state expects total revenues of $43.97 billion in 2021, compared with $57.95 billion in the 2020 budget, based on an average oil price of $40 per barrel, the Finance Ministry said in a statement.The Ministry said it plans to spend $19.8 billion for major projects including some related to the Qatar Fifa 2022.

QEWC - New Power Plant: Involves construction of a new plant having a capacity of 2,600 MW of electricity and 100 MIGD of desalinated water.
Furjan Wadi LusailProject: The development consists of 2 large parcels of land, with a total land area of over 3,476,000 sq.m and will comprise residential towers, villas, courtyard houses and all necessary amenities.
Idd El Shargi South Dome Field Expansion: Project entails expansion of Idd El Shargi South Dome Field.
Eco-Floating Hotel: The five star hotel will consist of 152 rooms and adopts the principle of minimum energy loss and zero waste as a key principle.
Connecting Lusail City with The Expressway Network: The scope of works involve construction of 39 km of roads and 25 junctions.

North Field Expansion Project (North Field East Project & North Field South Project): The facility will produce an additional 32 million tons per annum (mtpa) of LNG, which will raise Qatar’s production from 77 to 110 mtpa.
Qatar National Rail Scheme: Project entails construction of a rail line for freight and passenger services between Doha and Bahrain.
Sharq Crossing: The 12 Km project entails construction of three bridges named West Bay, Cultural City, and Al Sharq, interconnected by subsea tunnels.
Bul Hanine Redevelopment: Drilling of 150 wells and construction of a production facility with seven turbines for water and gas injection to increase production to 95,000 b/d.
HIA – Airport City Project: The project spread over an area of 10 sq km will be a township that will create an interface between Doha city and the new Hamad International Airport.
