Daewoo E&C wins US$910 Million New Orbital Highway - Phase 4 contract

Daewoo Engineering and Construction Co. (Daewoo E&C), one of South Korea's largest builders, said on Friday that it secured a US$910 million highway construction project in Qatar.

The company said it won the fourth zone linking the Al Khor Link Road with Dukhan Highway, which forms part of the new 200km Orbital Highway project. This is a 42-km-stretch of the road that will have five interchanges and numerous bridges. Daewoo said the 14 lane road will have smart road traffic controls and the latest wastewater treatment systems.

Daewoo E&C will be in charge of engineering and design as well as construction of the road. The company said the Ashghal project will take 35 months to complete.
