Saudi Arabia announced road projects worth total of US$2.7bn

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced the launch of two road projects worth a combined total of US$ 2.7 billion (SAR 10 billion) as reported by Saudi Press Agency on 12 July 2014 following an announcement by the Emir of Asir.
The first project is a road linking the Asir and Jazan regions to be built at a cost of US$ 1.6 billion (SAR 6 billion). Prince Faisal said the dual carriageway would stretch 135km from Al-Far’a recreation park in the south of Abha, to Beesh in the north of Jazan region. Services needed to facilitate the movement of travellers between the two regions will also be built as part of the project.
The second project is for the construction of a US$ 1.1 billion (SAR 4 billion) highway between Makkah and Jazan regions via Asir, along with requisite services and rest houses. Both projects are part of a US$ 6.4 billion (SAR 24 billion) programme of road building approved by the Saudi government.Back to all Construction News
